This year there is no camp or anything for year 9`s but we are doing sustainability week. This week consists of lots of activities for the students to learn about the environment and how to look after the world and make it a better place for our children and our children’s children. The time table for the sustainability week follows as below:
Wednesday: Making a plant box. (This was fun I was one of the first to finish, it took a lot of hard work but I completed it thoroughly.)
Thursday: Visiting the sanctuary at UNITEC. (This was a great experience and I had never been here before.)
Friday: Painting. (This was painting of things from the environment and nature and having a recycling perspective of the world.)
Monday: Making a preserve. This was making a preserve and baking it was heaps of fun.
Tuesday: Planting a plant in our plant box. (This was fun we learnt about plants and how to plant and care for them at the same time.)
Overall, this was a fun experience but I don’t think plants or anything related is something I want to pursue as a career or anything more serious. This was a great opportunity to do something outside the class room for once and learn more about sustainability.
