English

English is great subject.I have English five times a week. Most of the time English is ether in F block or the library.Mrs Wagner is my teacher. She’s taught me about Shakespeare, we did a unit on hooked on books and film study. We learn these things because later in school life we might need to know it.

In the hooked on books unit we had to read three books and do two activities to pass the unit. Some people read more books and did more activities. Later in the year we studied William Shakespeare we studied his history of the Globe Theatre and his language and we also studied one of his plays but we watched a movie of the book instead of reading it. We also did film study in film study we study films like Holes first we watch them then we do background work on the movies such as Holes, Batman and Robin and Romeo and Juliet.

In English I learned that writing can be fun.Films have more to them than meets the eye. Reading is a good way to use up time. What I got out of English was fun and almost easy work.People that might enjoy it are people that ether like working, like reading, like movies or like teachers.

English 2009

This year as a class we did a lot of activities which are fun and educational. We studied a films unit, hooked on books (chapter books) unit, a Shakespeare unit, etc. Mrs Wagner is my teacher for this year replacing Ms Jordan before but she left at the end of term two so we had Wagner from term three till now for English.

My favourite unit was the study film unit where we studied 2 films “Batman” and “Romeo &Juliet”. When we watched “Batman” we had Ms Jordan as our teacher and when we watched “Romeo & Juliet” we had Mrs Wagner as our teacher. The best film out of these two that I enjoyed was Romeo & Juliet. I liked it because it was romantic, tragic and sad. It took really long to finish the movie but I guess it was easy to write essays and paragraphs about it.

The exams are over and all of us are happy, I still can’t believe that it’s almost the end of the year and soon we’ll be year 10s welcoming the new year 9s who’ll be coming soon. Obviously they’ll enjoying English like how I did. English was hard but fun and educational.
