Science 2009

This year for science, my class 9CH had Ms Mehta for a teacher and our classrooms were in G3 and E7.

In science we did up to 6 topics which are atomic chemistry, forces, acids and bases, electricity, reproduction and biodiversity. For atomic chemistry we studied about atoms like protons, neutrons, electrons etc. For Electricity, we did electrical circuits with light bulbs, cells, batteries, ammeters and voltmeters. For Forces, we measured gravity, friction, reaction force air/water resistance and did lots of triangle equations. For Acids and Bases, we studied about what the pH of acids or bases were when universal indicator was added to the substances and lots more. For Reproduction, we learnt about genes, characteristics and selective breeding. For Biodiversity, we learnt about parts of the microscope, animal and plant cells and the MRS GREN which stands for movement, resistance, sensitivity, growth, respiration, excretion and nutrition.

Overall my most favourite subject in science would be Acids and Bases because it is fun to learn about and you get to do fun experiments.

Science 2009

My science teacher was Ms Mehta and my class had science 4 times a week. This year in science we did over 6 topics which consisted of Atomic Chemistry, Electricity, Reproduction, Acids and Bases, Biodiversity, and Forces. These 6 topics were the 6 topics we learnt all year. They took us about 6-8 weeks to complete one of the topics.

Electricity: was connecting wires and making circuits with light bulbs. This was fun to learn.
Reproduction: consisted of learning about genes and variations and characteristics of humans and animals.
Biodiversity: was learning about movement, resistance, sensitivity, growth, respiration, excretion, and nutrition/feeding. This was great to learn about because it was a topic I have never learned before.
Atomic Chemistry: consisted of atoms, neutrons, electrons and what is inside an atom. This was hard to learn.
Acids and Bases: This was my favourite topic because you could test how strong or how weak something was using other chemicals.
Forces: This was my least favourite subject because it was hard to measure the weight and we did a lot of testing in this topic.

Overall science was very interesting and the things you learn are things you won’t get to try or see again.
