SST

This year we have studied 4 subjects. They were Maths, Science, English, and Social-studies. My favourite subject was Social Studies. In Social Studies we have covered 4 main topics. They were Kiwiana Lawmakers & Lawbreakers, Rome, and Pacific Islands. The class I was put in was MCC. Man that was such a fun class. Our teacher was Whaea Amber. The topic she taught us was fun, and that made everybody join in conversation in the class.

The topic I like was Lawmaker & Lawbreakers. In the beginning I didn’t really like social studies. I was really way behind in my work and didn’t concentrate really well. BUT now that has all changed. I love social studies now. I got the highest mark in my class OMG oi. See things can change if you put your mind to it.

In Lawmakers and Lawbreakers I learnt a lot. We learned about high courts and district courts. It was really fun learning about crimes and stuff. The highest court is the Supreme Court. That is where the series crimes are held for example you have murder someone. Social studies were such a kwel kick back subject. I hope you enjoy this subject as I did. =)

Social Studies

This year, 9ch was in room I3 for Social Studies and our Teacher was Ms Phelan, and we learnt about map work, bar graphs, Paragraphs, Essays, watched some films Kiwiana, Rome, Law Makers and Law Breakers, Australia, and People of the Monsoon.

My favourite Subjects would be Kiwiana, Rome and Law Makers and Law breakers. For Social studies, it was better than I had expected in the beginning of the year, it was fun and we had Mr Bell and Mr D for Law Makers and Law Breakers and Australia.

In Kiwiana, We learnt about New Zealand’s towns and their symbols, we also did map work by labelling where each town, river or mountain was on a map. Also in Kiwiana were learnt about what the symbols on the flag meant, the national anthem, what is related to New Zealand and the important dates like Waitangi day, Anzac day and Labour day. In Rome we learnt about the roman times, Roman architectures, Hannibal, Roman Gods and Goddesses, and lots more. For Law Makers and Law Breakers, we learnt about the courts and who works there, and how to create a law.
